Our release 3.1 has fixed minor bugs in smatrix and further optimized the general usability. For example, we have improved connectivity with Bluetooth headsets, simplified the Excel import and optimized manual data entry with an external keyboard, for example with Zebra devices.
For the “Fill with” command, we have adapted the navigation logic according to your feedback. The progress in the trial table now corresponds to your user expectations. For example, after all cells of a trait have been filled with a value at once (e.g. with zero, because the trait does not occur at the time of assessment), smatrix switches to the next cell according to the navigation settings you have defined - starting from the first cell of the filled trait (previously: starting from the last cell of the filled trait). This ensures a smooth workflow during your assessment.
We have also included your requirements in the subsample countdown and made the voice feedback of the countdown variable. In assessments with a large number of subsamples, the acoustic feedback on how many samples still need to be recorded is now given in steps of 50. As soon as you get below 50 subsamples, the countdown is given acoustically every 10 subsamples; at the end, the last 5 and the last subsample will be announced. As a result, there are now significantly fewer interruptions during the subsample countdown than before. Especially for assessments with a large number of samples, such as in wine and fruit cultivation, this allows a faster workflow. At the same time, reliable acoustic feedback on work progress and the remaining samples is still guaranteed in an appropriate frequency.
