On August 21, we released an update for smatrix, version 2.7.5. If you update your app version, you will probably notice a new message screen when you start smatrix:
This message (or a similar one, depending on your device) appears if the use of smatrix in the background is restricted by the system settings of your mobile device. This happens because your device is trying to save as much battery as possible. Apps such as smatrix are then granted less access to the battery capacity than would actually be necessary for smooth use if the app is to continue running in the background (e.g. when the screen is locked). Therefore, we strongly recommend that you allow smatrix to run in the background by selecting “Allow” when the message shown above appears. Otherwise, the settings of your smartphone or tablet may cause the voice dialog to be delayed, the microphone of your headset to stop responding to voice input or smatrix to stop responding to voice input altogether. It is therefore essential that you allow smatrix to runin the background so that you can work best with the app.
If you have accidentally selected “Deny” to remove the message, it will reappear the next time you restart smatrix. You then have the option of allowing background use again so that smatrix works in the best possible way on your smartphone or tablet. If you have already allowed background use, the system message will no longer appear when you restart smatrix.
If you have not already automatically installed the new update 2.7.5 on your mobile device, we strongly recommend that you update to the new version manually. If you have any questions, please contact our support team.
Thank you very much for your time and effort!
